For Consistency – Should You Improve Your Golf Swing or Improve Your Golf Mind?

You and I both know…

Time spent practicing is no guarantee of improved scores on the course. In fact very often the opposite happens, the more you practice, the worse you get. This is one of those cruel tricks golf can play on you and me.

You’ve put the work in, seen great shots on the range, you’re excited, your expectations are high. So when you step out on to the first tee you have paid your dues and are ready to reap the rewards of your hard work…

Four hours of misery later – you have a scorecard so bad you just want to pack it all in for good.

“Do you consider time on the range as one aspect of golf and time on the course as another aspect of golf?”

You will most likely consider them as two separate aspects, but it is only when you consider all of golf as one entity, and not separated into different parts, will you have any chance of playing regularly to your full potential.

These are probably the simplest things you can do and at the same time they are the most neglected steps by club golfers.

Once you’ve played the shot, neither like or dislike the result, just accept it

That’s it…

That is what all winning Tour Players do: Just 3 simple steps. Now you have a simple system of only 3 steps. Because the vast majority of other players don’t understand this and so it gives you a huge advantage.

Under pressure…

These 3 steps will serve you well time and time again.

So now you can incorporate these 3 steps into your game, the one, all encompassing, game. Incorporate it:

On the range

On the course

Around the green

In the sand


Swinging in the garden with a whiffle ball

Very soon you will find you are playing more of the best shots you know you can .

Your bad shots will be better,

Your good shots will be better and…

You’ll play and enjoy golf better than you ever have before.

These 3 Steps allow you to eliminate interference from you own thoughts of technique, score and consequences to using a process to create the environment to allow your best golf to be free to come out.

You will finally become consistent, and after all, isn’t that what you and I want from our golf game? … All aspects of our golf game!
