I personally prefer exercise bands, not only because of the lower price, but because they are portable, adaptable and more versatile than the set of dumbbells. Anyone who is in the market for a nice set of resistance bands should look at these two options: I would recommend either the Bodylastics Home Gym or The Golds Gym Resistance Bands. Bodylastics appears to give you more for the money than the Golds Gym strength bands.

Now, let’s take a look at what type of chin up bar is required in the power 90 extreme workout program… There are some options here, if you’re looking for low-cost. You can use the resistance bands to do pull downs, instead of doing chin-ups or pull ups. If you want to follow the exact program, then look for a basic doorway chin-up bar, which will run around $20 as opposed to the $50 you’ll have to pay for the one sold by P90X.

So, what’s the story with doing push-ups? The reality is that you can get away without using push-up stands or some kind of Push-up Pro type exercise device. However, these types of devices do provide you with some benefits. Predominantly, they allow you to go deeper in the push-up and help you avoid problems with your wrist. There is a cheap alternative and that is to do your push-ups between chairs. Just like Charles Atlas recommends in his dynamic tension course. Nevertheless, you can buy a set of these for fewer than 30 bucks.
